  13. SPEARMAN JOINS NeXT AS DIRECTOR OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

  15. REDWOOD CITY, CA - November 3, 1993 - NeXT Computer, Inc. today
  16. announced that Angela Spearman, 39, has joined as Director of
  17. Professional Services.  Ms. Spearman will be responsible for
  18. managing NeXT's support and education departments.
  19.  
  20. "Angela's experience and leadership in both training and customer
  21. support will play a critical role in helping NeXT achieve its
  22. professional service goals of offering NEXTSTEP customers
  23. outstanding education and support products and services," said
  24. Warren Weiss, vice president of North American sales and marketing
  25. at NeXT.

  27. "NeXT is faced with some exciting challenges and I look forward to
  28. meeting those challenges head-on," said Ms. Spearman.  "My goal is
  29. to make professional service offerings a cornerstone of the NeXT
  30. product line and in doing so to provide even greater customer
  31. service."

  33. Prior to joining NeXT, Ms. Spearman was a Director of Engineering
  34. at Santa Cruz Operation, Inc. (SCO) where she managed a 50 person
  35. team responsible for releasing SCO's integrated product and the
  36. networked UNIX OS.  Prior to that she was the Director of SCO's
  37. Technical Support Services and Quality Department where she managed
  38. more than 130 people.  Ms. Spearman took over this department,
  39. making substantial gains in customer satisfaction and implementing
  40. major changes to the SCO development process to ensure the
  41. production of high quality products on schedule.
