SPEARMAN JOINS NeXT AS DIRECTOR OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
REDWOOD CITY, CA - November 3, 1993 - NeXT Computer, Inc. today
announced that Angela Spearman, 39, has joined as Director of
Professional Services. Ms. Spearman will be responsible for
managing NeXT's support and education departments.
"Angela's experience and leadership in both training and customer
support will play a critical role in helping NeXT achieve its
professional service goals of offering NEXTSTEP customers
outstanding education and support products and services," said
Warren Weiss, vice president of North American sales and marketing
at NeXT.
"NeXT is faced with some exciting challenges and I look forward to
meeting those challenges head-on," said Ms. Spearman. "My goal is
to make professional service offerings a cornerstone of the NeXT
product line and in doing so to provide even greater customer
service."
Prior to joining NeXT, Ms. Spearman was a Director of Engineering
at Santa Cruz Operation, Inc. (SCO) where she managed a 50 person
team responsible for releasing SCO's integrated product and the
networked UNIX OS. Prior to that she was the Director of SCO's
Technical Support Services and Quality Department where she managed
more than 130 people. Ms. Spearman took over this department,
making substantial gains in customer satisfaction and implementing
major changes to the SCO development process to ensure the
production of high quality products on schedule.
